What:
SHA will host an informational meeting to familiarize residents and commuters with two major bridge rehabilitation projects in Anne Arundel County.  Next year, SHA will perform maintenance and repairs to the Nursery Road (MD 168) and Hammonds Ferry Road bridges over MD 295 (Baltimore Washington Parkway).

Originally built in 1948, the Nursery Road and Hammonds Ferry Road bridges carry two lanes of traffic over MD 295 and are showing signs of concrete deck (riding surface) deterioration.

Interested parties are encouraged to attend and learn about proposed construction plans, traffic impacts and speak with SHA project staff.  Display areas will depict the traffic management plans during construction; no formal presentation will be given.

When:
Wednesday, July 14, 2010, 5:30 p.m. – 7 p.m.

Where:
North County High School – Cafeteria
10 East 1st Avenue, Glen Burnie, MD 21061

Why:
Next year, SHA will alter the traffic patterns on and near these bridges to expedite construction.  SHA will close the Hammonds Ferry Road bridge during construction and detour traffic area for approximately three months.  Traffic will be maintained on the Nursery Road Bridge throughout construction for approximately eight months.

Those who would like additional information on the project may contact SHA’s District 5 Office at 1-800-331-5603 or SHADistrict5@sha.state.md.us
