Motorists Can Expect Nighttime Single Lane Closures for Three Weeks
(October 7, 2026) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will begin nighttime patching work on the US 50 Business (Salisbury Parkway) bridge in Salisbury, Wicomico County beginning Sunday, October 11. The work is expected to be complete in three weeks, weather permitting.
Drivers can expect nighttime single-lane closures Sundays through Thursdays from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. as crews work to patch potholes on the bridge. The State Highway Administration’s contractor, PDI Sheetz Construction Corporation, of Linthicum, will use variable message signs, barrels, and cones, to safely guide motorists through the work zone. The single lane closures will be in place until the project has been completed. Marine traffic will not be impacted by the closure.
The State Highway Administration appreciates customers’ patience during construction as we work to improve Maryland’s transportation system. Drivers are asked to stay alert, stay focused and be aware of reduced speed limits and changing driving patterns in the work zone. Slow down and move over in work zones. It’s the law.
