​Pipe Inspections Needed as Design Work Continues on the US 15 Capacity Improvement Project 

(September 10, 2026) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will conduct pipe inspections at two locations on northbound US 15 as the capacity improvement project advances with the design work.  

On Monday, September 14, the ramp to Rosemont Avenue (Exit 14) will close overnight from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning. The detour route will direct motorists to 7th Street at Exit 15 and use southbound US 15 to access Rosemont Avenue.   

The northbound US 15 ramp to 7th Street at Exit 15 will close overnight on Tuesday, September 22. The detour route will direct motorists to the Motter Avenue at Exit 16 and use southbound US 15 to access 7th Street. All work is weather permitting.   

The remaining pipe inspections will require single-lane and shoulder closures during overnight work hours. The work is expected to be completed by October, weather permitting. Learn more about the US 15 capacity and road improvement project.  

The State Highway Administration is Serious About Safety. Pedestrians and motorists are urged to remain alert and avoid distractions when traveling through the work zone.
