Daytime Work Scheduled to Begin Monday Morning August 24
(August 21, 2026) - The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will close the MD 4 (Southern Maryland Boulevard) median crossover at the Skinners Turn Road / Briscoes Turn Road intersection starting 8:30 a.m. Monday, August 24.
The median crossover closure will allow crews to safely replace a deteriorated pipe located across the Skinners Turn Road approach. Left turns will not be allowed from northbound or southbound MD 4 onto Skinners Turn Road or Briscoes Turn Road. Drivers will be directed using a flagging operation and are advised to plan additional travel time while this work is underway. This temporary traffic pattern will remain in place until work is complete.
Customers who have questions may contact the District 5 Office at 410-841-1000 or 800-331-5603. The State Highway Administration is Serious About Safety. Motorists are urged to remain alert and avoid distractions when traveling through the work zone. Motorists must move over or slow down while driving through work zones.
