Expect Overnight Lane Closures Sundays–Thursdays Through Mid-Summer
(May 27, 2026) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will begin a project to improve the ride quality on segments of MD 30 (Hanover Pike) between MD 91 (Emory Road) and I-795 (Northwest Expressway) in Upperco. The project will be complete mid-summer, weather permitting.
Beginning as soon as Sunday, May 31, crews will patch segments of asphalt pavement where needed on MD 30. Crews will work weeknights from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sundays–Thursdays with single-lane closures and flagging operations in effect overnights.
The State Highway Administrator’s contractor is for the $364,000 highway maintenance project is Allan Myers – MD, Inc. of Fallston. Contractor crews and flaggers will use temporary traffic signs and cones to control two-way traffic through the work zone.
The State Highway Administration is Serious About Safety. Motorists are urged to remain alert and avoid distractions when traveling through the work zone. Motorists should obey all posted speed limits. Motorists can dial #77 on their mobile devices for roadside assistance.
