​Expect Overnight Lane Closures Sundays–Thursdays Through Mid-Summer 

(May 27, 2026) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will begin a project to improve the ride quality on segments of MD 30 (Hanover Pike) between MD 91 (Emory Road) and I-795 (Northwest Expressway) in Upperco. The project will be complete mid-summer, weather permitting.  

Beginning as soon as Sunday, May 31, crews will patch segments of asphalt pavement where needed on MD 30. Crews will work weeknights from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sundays–Thursdays with single-lane closures and flagging operations in effect overnights. 

The State Highway Administrator’s contractor is for the $364,000 highway maintenance project is Allan Myers – MD, Inc. of Fallston.  Contractor crews and flaggers will use temporary traffic signs and cones to control two-way traffic through the work zone.   

The State Highway Administration is Serious About Safety​.  Motorists are urged to remain alert and avoid distractions when traveling through the work zone. Motorists should obey all posted speed limits. Motorists can dial #77 on their mobile devices for roadside assistance.​
