Continuous Weekend Ramp Repairs Will Begin at 9 P.M. Friday Night for Two Weekends
(May 27, 2026) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will repair pavement sections along two ramps at the MD 295 (Baltimore Washington Parkway)/I-195 (Metropolitan Boulevard) interchange in Anne Arundel County during three weekends in June.
The State Highway Administration will close each MD 295 interchange ramp to remove older sections and pour new concrete. The ramp will remain closed as the newly poured concrete cures before opening the ramp to traffic.
Crews will repair concrete along two MD 295 interchange ramp movements:
- Northbound MD 295 to eastbound I-195 (9 p.m. Friday night June 5 until 5 a.m. Monday morning June 8); and then 9 p.m. Friday night June 12 until 5 a.m. Monday morning June 15) ; and then 9 p.m. Friday night June 12 until 5 a.m. Monday morning June 15 )
- Northbound MD 295 to westbound I-195 (9 p.m. Friday night June 19 until 5 a.m. Monday morning June 22)
The state’s contractor will direct drivers using a signed detour. Drivers are advised to use I-95 or US 1 (Washington Boulevard) as alternate route to reach I-195. All work is weather permitting.
Customers may contact the District 5 Office at 410-84-1000 or 800-331-5603 with any questions. Contractor DIR Construction Inc. of Laurel will use portable variable message signs, barrels, and temporary traffic signs to guide drivers along the signed detour route.
