***TRAFFIC ALERT*** MOTORISTS CAN EXPECT WEEKDAY LANE CLOSURES, FLAGGING OPERATIONS ON MD 24 BETWEEN MD 136 AND ST. CLAIR BRIDGE ROAD THROUGH LATE DECEMBER

Starting 9 a.m. Tuesday​ 

(November 10, 2025) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will begin highway maintenance work on two sections of MD 24 (Rocks Road) in Harford County starting as soon as 9 a.m. Tuesday, November 11. Weather permitting, work will be complete in late December.  

Contractor crews will patch damaged portions of pavement and place new reflective pavement markings within two segments of MD 24 in the following sequence:  

  • MD 24 (Rocks Road) from MD 136 (Whiteford Road) to MD 165 (Federal Hill Rd/Pylesville Road) 
  • MD 24 from MD 165 to St. Clair Bridge Road  

Contractor crews will work along MD 24 on weekdays, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday through Friday. During work hours, motorists can expect single-lane closures with flagging operations to control two-way traffic on MD 24. Crews and flaggers will use temporary traffic signs and cones to guide motorists through the work zone.  

The $579,000 patching work is part of a $13.6 million State Highway Administration contract to pave and repair State highways in Harford County. The contractor is Allan Myers MD, Inc. of Fallston.​
