Off-Peak Daytime and Nighttime Lane Closures Through Late Fall 2025
(August 6, 2025) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will begin pavement improvement projects at several locations in Prince George’s County next week. The projects include milling (removing the top layer of asphalt) paving, and restriping. All locations are anticipated to be complete by late fall, weather permitting.
Drivers can expect single-lane closures during off-peak hours, weekdays 9 a.m.-3 p.m., and overnights 8 p.m.-5 a.m. Additional Lane closures and work hours may be necessary to expedite all phases of work to keep projects on schedule. The contractor for these projects is Allan Myers of Dover, Delaware.
The locations are as follows:
The State Highway Administration works hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones for our crews as well as our customers. Drivers need to stay alert, focus on driving, and look for reduced speed limits as well as other traffic pattern changes. Motorcyclists are urged to be aware of uneven pavement surfaces during the projects.
