Through Fall, Motorists Can Expect Overnight Single-Lane Closures; Drivers Urged to Plan Extra Drive Time During Work Hours
(July 24, 2025) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will begin resurfacing MD 191 (Bradley Boulevard) in both directions between 6421 Bradley Boulevard and Bradmoor Drive in Bethesda tonight, July 24. The work is expected to be completed by mid-September, weather permitting.
Motorists can expect single- and double-lane closures weekdays from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. As part of the project, crews will patch, mill, pave and restripe the travel lanes. Additional lane closures and extended work hours may be required to ensure all project phases stay on schedule.
Access to driveways within the construction zone will be temporarily restricted. Equipment used for construction may be disruptive. For your safety, pedestrians and motorists are urged to remain alert and avoid distractions when traveling through the work zone. Motorists should obey all posted speed limits.
The State Highway Administration works hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones for our crews as well as our customers. Drivers need to stay alert, focus on driving, and look for reduced speed limits as well as other traffic pattern changes. Please drive like you work here and slow down in construction zones. Motorists can dial #77 on their mobile devices for roadside assistance.
