TRAFFIC SHIFTS TO PERMANENT ALIGNMENT NEXT WEEK

(November 20, 2009) - As part of the Maryland Department of Transportation’s State Highway Administration’s (SHA) Intercounty Connector (ICC) construction project, crews will shift traffic onto the new Old Columbia Pike Bridge over the ICC on or about Monday, November 23, weather permitting.

Flagging operations will occur on the bridge, Monday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., as crews complete roadway striping.  Construction began last year on the bridge, which will now carry traffic over the ICC north of Fairland Road.

This work is part of the Contract “C” section of the ICC, from just west of US 29 to just east of I-95.  The contract is 45 percent complete and scheduled to open late 2010/early 2011.

For more information about the project, citizens may call the ICC Community Outreach staff at 1-866-462-0020 or visit www.iccproject.com
