- replacing existing traffic barriers and end treatments and

The project will lower the speed limit along this stretch of US 301 from 55 mph to 45 mph. With the lower speed limit in place, bicycle lanes will be accommodated within the project limits. Work will be performed 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays. Single and double-lane closures will be in effect. Additional work hours may be necessary to maintain the project schedule.
This segment of US 301 handles approximately 76,270 vehicle trips every day and is a prominent north-south travel corridor. Contractor Holcim-MAR Inc., of Greenbelt, will perform the work. Weather permitting, the project will be complete by spring 2026.
