Corridor Identified for Improvements in Statewide Pedestrian Safety Action Plan

(April 29, 2025) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will host a public informational workshop, 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. Monday, May 5, 2025, to provide information and gather community input on proposed pedestrian safety improvements along the MD 124 (Montgomery Village Avenue/Mid County Highway) corridor from MD 335 (Frederick Avenue) to Saybrooke Oaks Boulevard/Woodfield Road in Montgomery County. The workshop will be held at Flower Hill Elementary School, 18425 Flower Hill Way, Gaithersburg.

The State Highway Administration’s Pedestrian Safety Action Plan, published in May 2023, identifies areas of need and prioritizes corridors for pedestrian and bicycle safety projects. Safety improvements are planned for the MD 124 corridor in Montgomery County as part of the State Highway Administration’s commitment to a safe and accessible transportation network for all users, including pedestrians and bicyclists.
