Week Ahead Lane Closures  

Anne Arundel County    

  • MD 178 from Crownsville Road to Interstate 97 - Roadway Resurfacing - 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., Sunday - Thursday nights. Drivers should be prepared for lane shifts and flagging operations at driveway entrances. Traffic alert available here.
  • Interstate 97 Concrete Pavement Patching – Two of three lanes will be closed along northbound I-97 between Exit 12 and Exit 15B (MD 176 – Dorsey Road). Continuous weekend work is scheduled 9 p.m. Friday September 27 through 5 a.m. Monday morning September 30, weather permitting.     

Baltimore County    

  • MD 140 (Reisterstown Rd.) between Pleasant Hill Rd. and Stocksdale Ave. – County Waterline Replacement and State Highway Improvements - Daytime single-lane closures and traffic shifts 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. weekdays and if needed, overnight single lane closures 9 p.m. - 5 a.m. Sunday – Thursday, through late fall 2024.  Original traffic alert available here.      
  • I-95/I-695 Southwest Interchange – 10 Bridges Rehabilitation - Expect the following overnight single, double and triple lane closures, and overnight interchange ramp closures/detours between Sunday night, September 29 and Thursday, October 3, 2024.

  • MD 144 from Howard County Line/Oella Avenue to MD 166 (South Rolling Road) – Highway maintenance paving work on three segments of MD 144 through late-fall 2024.  Motorists can expect overnight lane closures with flagging operations along these sections of MD 144, 9 p.m.– 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday. MD 144 from Howard County line/Oella Avenue to River Road (Patch, mill and resurface); MD 144 from River Road to North Rolling Road (Patch); and MD 144 from North Rolling Road to MD 166  (Patch, mill, resurface).   • MD 7 from west of King Ave. to Campbell Blvd. –Resurfacing -Overnight lane closures with flagging operations 8 p.m. – 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday, through late fall.  Traffic alert available here.                    
  • MD 129A (Brooks Robinson Drive) Interchange Connector between MD 129 (Park Heights Ave.) and Stevenson Rd. –Resurfacing-overnight Lane and shoulder closures with flagging operations 9 p.m. – 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday, through late September.    
  • MD 139 (Charles Street) City/County line to MD 134 (Bellona Ave.)  - Waterline replacement and roadway improvements. Single lane closures northbound and southbound (with aux/turn lane closures where needed at intersections). Daytime 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. Monday – Friday and overnight 8 p.m. – 5 a.m. Sunday – Thursday, through fall 2026.

  • MD 542 (Loch Raven Blvd.) from south of Taylor Ave. to East Joppa Road - Baltimore Co. DPW/SHA joint project for County Waterline replacement and SHA roadway improvements. Single lane closures northbound and southbound Daytime 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. Monday – Friday and overnight single lane closures 9 p.m. – 5 a.m. with double lane closures (with aux/turn lane closures where needed at intersections). 10 p.m. - 5 a.m. Sunday – Thursday, through fall 2026.         
  • MD 542 (Loch Raven Blvd.) at Loch Hill Road – Drainage Pipe Replacement – 24/7 right lane and sidewalk closure on northbound MD 542 in vicinity of Loch Hill Road intersection through late fall. Traffic alert available here.         
  • MD 702 between Middleborough Road and Back River Neck Road, including the roundabout at Hyde Park Road. – Highway maintenance resurfacing – daytime lane closures for paving work on the mainline of MD 702 with flagging operations on weekdays, with overnight roundabout work with detours overnights through mid-fall. Calvert County  

  • MD 4 (Governor Thomas Johnson Bridge) at the Calvert / St. Mary’s County line – Pavement repair and routine maintenance – Overnight flagging operation 9 p.m. - 5 a.m., Sunday – Thursday nights through late October.  

Carroll County    

  • MD 91 (Emory Rd) bridge over a branch of the Patapsco River and Maryland Midland Railroad – Bridge replacement project – Closure in place for approximately nine months. Detour uses MD 140 and MD 30.     
  • MD 30 (S Main St) between North Woods Trail and the southern roundabout - Highway maintenance - Project starts Thursday, Sept 26 and be completed.by November. Single-lane closure and flagging operation weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Social media post available here.    

Frederick County  

  • MD 550 (Woodsboro Rd) between Bennie Duncan Rd and MD 26 (Liberty Rd) – Highway maintenance - Project to improve skid resistance and roadway safety with surface abrasion treatment. Schedule is overnight hours. Work will take three days to complete.      

Harford County        

  • MD 24 (Rocks Road) between south of Sharon Road and north of Ferncliff Lane – Slope Rehabilitation of MD 24 along Deer Creek – 24/7 Closure and Detour of segment of MD 24 by Deer Creek until late fall 2024. Project info and detour map available here and location available here.      
  • US 1 (Bel Air Bypass) between Tollgate Road and MD 147 (Harford Road) – Guardrail replacement project. Weekly single-lane closures between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. until November.      
  • US 1 Business (Conowingo Road) from Moores Mill Rd. to US 1 Bypass - Resurfacing and safety improvements - Daytime single lane closure 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. Monday – Friday and overnight single lane closures 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday – Thursday through 2025.   • MD 543 (Riverside Pkwy./Creswell Rd.) from I-95 to Brass Mill Rd. - Highway maintenance resurfacing - Overnight lane closures with flagging operations 8 p.m. – 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday, through early fall 2024. Traffic alert is available here.         

Howard County    

  • Southbound US 29 between MD 175 and Frederick Rd – Highway maintenance – Lane 1 and 2 finished, lane 3, shoulders now Ramp closures during overnight work hours of 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. The project is expected to be complete by November.   

Prince George’s County      

  • I-95 at MD 295 (Baltimore Washington Parkway) – Ramp resurfacing – Ramp closures will require overnight detours, Sundays through Thursdays, 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.  Traffic alert is available here.        

St Mary’s County     

  • MD 5 at Hilton Run Bridge, south of MD 246 – Bridge Replacement – Daytime flagging operation to begin Monday, September 30. Press release here.  
  • MD 243 between Bull Road and Bayside Road –Resurfacing – Daytime flagging operation between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., weekdays ending in late September, weather permitting.   
  • MD 235 between MD 237 and Quality Way – Sidewalk Upgrades – Daytime single lane closure between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., Monday – Friday.    

Washington County    

  • I-68 at Creek Road – Bridge replacement work – Single right lane closures eastbound and westbound will be continuous throughout the duration of the project. For additional information, the traffic alert is available here.            
  • MD 68 (Lappans Road) between MD 65 (Sharpsburg Pike) and MD 632 (Downsville Pike) - Pavement improvement – Expect a flagging operation weekdays, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., through the end of the month.
