Expect Daytime Lane Closures, Flagging Operations Through Early Fall
(July 25, 2024) - The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will begin improving the pavement on sections of MD 23 (Norrisville Road) between MD 136 (Harkins Road) to MD 439 (Old York Road) in northern Harford County on Tuesday, July 30. The $630,000 project will be complete by early fall, weather permitting.
Beginning at 9 a.m. Tuesday, crews will patch sections of asphalt pavement on MD 23 between MD 136 and MD 439. They will continue to work weekdays, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. During work hours, motorists can expect single-lane closures on MD 23, with flagging operations in effect.
The paving work on MD 23 is part of the State Highway Administration’s highway maintenance program to improve safety and ride quality of pavements on state highways within Harford County. Contractor Allan Myers MD, Inc. of Fallston will perform the paving work.
The State Highway Administration works hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones for our crews as well as our customers. Drivers need to stay alert, focus on driving, and look for reduced speed limits as well as other traffic pattern changes.
