Traffic on Eastbound and Westbound Ingleside Avenue Underneath I-695 Detoured for Construction of New Sound Barrier
(May 20, 2024) –The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will temporarily close
Ingleside Avenue underneath I-695 (Baltimore Beltway) overnight Tuesday, June 4, for construction of a new metal segment of noise barrier along the bridge that carries the inner loop (northbound) I-695 over Ingleside Avenue. The road is expected to reopen by 5 a.m. the next day, weather permitting.
At 9 p.m. Tuesday, crews will close and detour eastbound and westbound Ingleside Avenue at I-695 to all traffic. Posted detour routes in effect overnight will include US 40 (Baltimore National Pike) and Edmondson Avenue.
While the roadway is closed, contractor crews will use cranes to place new support beams parallel to the I-695 bridge across Ingleside Avenue. The support beams will support the future metal segment of noise barrier.
