STATE HIGHWAY ADMINISTRATION RESURFACES MD 289 IN CHESTERTOWN, KENT COUNTY

All Work Performed at Night to Limit Traffic Impact 

(October 19, 2009) – On Monday, October 26, the Maryland Department of Transportation’s State Highway Administration (SHA) will begin resurfacing MD 289 (Cross Street) between Cannon Street and MD 213 (Maple Avenue) in Chestertown, Kent County.  Weather permitting, construction will be complete by the first week of November.

Construction on this quarter-mile section of roadway includes milling, patching and resurfacing. SHA crews will work Monday through Friday from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. With construction taking place at night, motorists are advised to take extra precaution when traveling through the workzone. Please be watchful for workers and obey traffic flaggers, cones, signs and other warning devices.
