Daytime Project will Repair Depressions on Nearly Three Miles of Roadway

(October 26, 2023) - The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will improve the pavement on MD 28 (Dickerson Road) between MD 85 (Buckeystown Pike) and Doctor Belt Road (Montgomery County line) on Monday. The nearly three-mile project should be complete by mid-December, weather permitting.

Starting at 9 a.m. on Monday, October 30, crews will close one travel lane to begin the project. There will be a flagging operation to maintain both directions of travel on MD 28. The schedule is Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The contractor, F.O. Day, Company based in Rockville, will use electronic signs, barrels and cones to alert motorists about the closures and guide them through the work zone.

The State Highway Administration maintains safety in work zones for our crews as well as motorists. Drivers need to stay alert, stay focused, look for reduced speed limits as well as driving pattern changes, and slow down in construction zones.

Motorists in need may dial #77 on their mobile devices for roadside assistance.
