Motorists Can Expect Single-Lane Closures with a Flagging Operation
(August 25, 2023)– The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will replace an underground pipe on MD 54 (Delmar Road) near MD 313 (Sharptown Road) in Mardela Springs on Tuesday August 29. The project should be complete by Friday September 1, weather permitting.
Motorists can expect daytime single-lane closures guided by a flagging operation Mondays through Fridays 7 a.m.–5 p.m. The State Highway Administration’s contractor, David A. Bramble of Chestertown, will use temporary traffic signs, barrels, and electronic arrow boards to guide motorists safely through the work zone.
The State Highway Administration understands lane closures can be an inconvenience, but this work is necessary to ensure a safe and reliable transportation system. Motorists are asked to s reduce speeds approaching and while in active work zones.
