Through Summer, Motorists Can Expect Single-Lane and Shoulder Closures 

(May 8, 2023) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration is continuing to install traffic barriers along I-695 (Baltimore Beltway) in Dundalk for a guardrail replacement project. Work is currently underway on northbound I-695 (outer loop) between MD 151 (North Point Boulevard) and Cove Road. 

Crews will work weekdays with temporary single-lane and shoulder closures in effect at times between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. The $213,000 project is expected to be completed by early summer, weather permitting.  

Following the outer loop work, crews will begin work on southbound I-695 (inner loop) between MD 150 (Eastern Boulevard) and MD 151. Crews will work weekdays with temporary single-lane and shoulder closures in effect at times between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. This $461,000 project is expected to be complete by late summer, weather permitting. 

The State Highway Administration understands roadwork may be an inconvenience, but asks all motorists to please stay alert and be patient as they pass through the work zones.
