Weekday Lane Closures from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. from Tuesday, December 27 Through Thursday, December 29 for Paving on MD 208
(December 23, 2022) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) will conduct routine paving on MD 208 (38th Street) between Bladensburg Road and US 1 (Rhode Island Avenue) in Prince George’s County from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, December 27, through Thursday, December 29, weather permitting.
During work hours, crews will conduct milling and road paving. Starting 7 a.m. Tuesday, one lane of MD 208 will be temporarily closed, and a flagging operation will be in place. Once crews are finished at the end of each weekday, crews will re-open the lane on MD 208. There will be no detours as part of this work.
MDOT SHA contractor Ardent Company LLC will use flaggers, roadway signs, cones and barrels to alert motorists about lane closures and any traffic stoppages along MD 208. Customers with questions may contact the MDOT SHA District 3 Office at 301-513-7300 or toll-free at 1-800-749-0737.
Maryland’s Move Over Law requires motorists to make a lane change or slow down when approaching any stopped, standing or parked vehicle displaying hazard warning lights, road flares or other caution signals. The expanded law is in place to protect emergency responders and motorists who encounter a roadside emergency.
Motorists in need may dial #77 on their mobile device for roadside assistance.
