Drivers Advised to Plan for Extra Travel Time on MD 146 This Winter
(December 12, 2022) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) will begin to repair pavement on a section of MD 146 (Jarrettsville Pike) at the Baltimore/Harford County line. The work scheduled for Wednesday, December 14 has been postponed and will be rescheduled. Weather permitting, the work will be complete by spring 2023.
Crews will be working on MD 146 between the Little Gunpowder Falls Bridge (just south of Park Road) and Pocock Road. Starting Wednesday, they will work 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays. Single lane closures and flagging operations will be in effect while work is taking place. The lane closures will be suspended on Monday, December 26, and Monday, January 2, 2023, for Christmas and New Year’s.
MDOT SHA contractor Allan Myers- MD, Inc. of Fallston will perform the $283,000 highway maintenance project. Customers who have questions about the work on MD 146 may contact the MDOT SHA District 4 Office Maintenance Division at 410-229-2300 or toll-free at 1-866-998-0367.
Maryland’s Move Over Law requires motorists to make a lane change or slow down when approaching any stopped, standing, or parked vehicle displaying hazard warning lights, road flares or other caution signals. The expanded law is in place to protect emergency responders and motorists who encounter a roadside emergency.
Motorists in need may dial #77 on their mobile device for roadside assistance.
