MD 10 sign
Daytime Detour Scheduled to Start Thursday, December 1
(November 30, 2022) The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) will temporarily close the MD 10 (Arundel Expressway) / MD 270 (Furnace Branch Road) ramps in northern Anne Arundel County between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. each day beginning Thursday, December 1. The temporary closure is necessary for crews to resurface the ramps and improve ride quality.
MDOT SHA’s contractor Reliable Contracting, Inc., will direct drivers along signed detours within the interchange for each of the five ramps. Roadwork will first begin on the ramp from northbound MD 270 to northbound MD 10. All work is scheduled to be completed by mid-December, weather permitting.
Customers who have questions about this work may contact the MDOT SHA District 5 Office at 410-841-1000 or toll-free at 1-800-331-5603.
The Move Over Law in Maryland requires motorists to make a lane change or slow down when approaching any stopped, standing or parked vehicle displaying hazard warning lights, road flares or other caution signals. The expanded law is in place to protect emergency responders and motorists who encounter a roadside emergency.
Motorists in need may dial #77 on their mobile device for roadside assistance.
