New MD 30 Bypass Enhances Safety and Reduces Traffic Congestion; Innovative Project Using Goats to Mow Meadow Continues

WHAT: Ribbon cutting to celebrate the opening of the $83 million Hampstead Bypass (MD 30 Relocated) project in Carroll County. 

WHEN:  Thursday, August 6th at 1:30 p.m.

WHERE: Hampstead Bypass – Northern Tie-In and Roundabout, located just south of the Brodbeck Road intersection.

WHY: The much anticipated opening of the Hampstead Bypass provides traffic congestion relief through the Town of Hampstead.  SHA took extra precaution to protect endangered turtles and habitat and continues use of goats to “mow” meadow.
   

DIRECTIONS: 

 From I-695, take I-795 West until it ends.  Go through one traffic signal to the second signal to MD 30 North (Hanover Pike) toward Hampstead.  Follow local MD 30 North through the Town of Hampstead. Continue north along MD 30 to the northern tie-in, just south of Brodbeck Road.  Parking will be available along the southbound lane of the bypass.
