Motorists Should Prepare for Double-Lane Closures; Stay Alert for Changing Traffic Pattern

(August 29, 2022) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) will perform a one-night project Tuesday, August 30, to repair a section of southbound I-97 between MD 648 (Baltimore-Annapolis Boulevard) and the bridge over MD 176 (Dorsey Road) in northern Anne Arundel County. The repair will be complete by 5 a.m. Wednesday, August 31, weather permitting.

Crews will close the two left lanes beginning at 9 p.m. Tuesday to perform the overnight paving. MDOT SHA’s contractor will use barrels and traffic signage to guide motorists safely through the work zone.

Customers with questions about this project may contact the MDOT SHA District 5 Office at 410-841-1000 or 1-800-331-5603. MDOT SHA works hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones for our crews as well as our customers. Drivers need to stay alert, focus on driving, and look for reduced speed limits as well as other driving pattern changes. Please drive like you work here and slow down in construction zones. Motorists in need may dial #77 on their mobile device for roadside assistance.
