Baltimore County/Harford County line                                

  • US 40 Dual Bridges over Little Gunpowder Falls and (Big) Gunpowder Falls -Bridge rehabilitation – Single-lane closures possible on US 40 in the vicinity of the four bridges on Saturdays through summer 2022.  Eastbound US 40: 7 a.m.  to 4 p.m. Westbound US 40: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.    

Baltimore County         

  • I-70 between the Baltimore City Line and I-695 (Baltimore Beltway) – Concrete pavement rehabilitation – Single and double lane closures on I-70 east of I-695 weekdays Monday-Friday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and continuously on weekends for concrete pours and curing from 9 p.m. Friday through 5 a.m. Sundays, work will continue until early 2023.    

Frederick County 

  • Westbound I-70 at Exit 52 – Guardrail repairs – On Sunday, August 14 at 10 p.m., all lanes will close for guardrail repairs. Traffic will be detoured to the Exit 52 (southbound US 15/westbound US 340) ramp which merges with another ramp back onto westbound I-70. All lanes will be reopened by 5 a.m. New     

Montgomery County    

  • I-495 Inner Loop at Exit 41/Clara Barton Parkway. Vegetation management/trimming project.  Full ramp closure  with detour, Sat. 8/13 and Sun. 8/14, 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. Drivers should use Exit 39/River Road and the outer loop of I-495 as a detour. New

Anne Arundel County       

  •  Southbound MD 2 (Ritchie Highway) between Cypress Creek Road and US 50 - Resurfacing-Single Lane closures between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m., Sundays through Thursdays.  
  • Eastbound US 50 overpass over South Haven Road just west of I-97 – Pavement work –​ Nighttime lane closures between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. on Sunday night, August 14 and Monday night, August 15. New 
  • Eastbound US 50 overpass over South Haven Road just west of I-97 – Pavement work -- Nighttime lane closures between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. on Monday night, August 15 and Tuesday night, August 16. New

Baltimore County       

  • MD 137 (Mt. Carmel Rd.) from MD 25 (Falls Rd.) to Cedar Grove Rd. – Highway Maintenance pavement milling, patching and resurfacing – Daytime temporary lane closures and flagging operations between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday-Friday through late fall 2022.  New              

Carroll County            

  • MD 97 (Old Washington Road) between Piney View Court and MD 26 (Liberty Road) - Highway Maintenance Project – Starting August 14 at 8 p.m., crews will close one lane as part of this project to mill, patch and pave the roadway. Work schedule is 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sunday through Thursday until completion in September. New
  • MD 140 (Taneytown Pike) at Mayberry Road - Roadway widening project - Mayberry Road is currently closed between MD 140 and MD 832 (Old Taneytown Pike) through Thursday, September 1. Motorists are being detoured using MD 832.   
  • MD 32 (Sykesville Rd) between Piney Ridge Parkway and MD 26 (Liberty Rd) - Highway Maintenance Project – Project is in its final week. Work scheduled is 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sundays through Thursdays.     
  • MD 140 (Baltimore Blvd) between the Carroll/Baltimore Co line and MD 879D (Old Gamber Road) - Highway Maintenance Project – Crews will mill, patch and pave 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sundays through Thursdays. This project will be complete in September.       

Dorchester County                            

  • US 50 near Woods Road - Utility work.  Single lane and shoulder closures weekdays 7 a.m.-5 p.m. through September 1 for roadway maintenance. New
  • US 50 East and West at MD 750 (Old Rt. 50) and Bucktown Road - Traffic signal modifications.  Single lane and shoulder closures weekdays 9 a.m.-3 p.m. through September 30. New   

Frederick County 

  • MD 75 between MD 355 and MD 80 – Highway maintenance project – Single lane closures Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. through September. 

Harford County      

  • MD 136 (Whiteford Road) between Robinson Mill Road and Heaps Road – Highway Maintenance pavement milling patching and resurfacing – Occasional temporary overnight lane closures and flagging operations for final pavement marking between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m., Sundays-Thursdays through late summer 2022.   
  • MD 543 (Creswell / Fountain Green Rd.) from I-95 to MD 136 (Calvary Rd.) – Highway Maintenance Pavement Patching – Overnight temporary lane closures and flagging operations between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. the next day Sunday – Thursday through late fall 2022.          

Howard County 

  • MD 108 between the Howard/Montgomery Co line and MD 32 – Highway maintenance project – Crews are installing rumble strips and pavement markers. The project is scheduled to be complete in two weeks.   

Montgomery & Prince George’s Counties

St. Mary’s County     

  • MD 5 (Point Lookout Road) between Abell/Moakley Streets and MD 245 (Hollywood Road) - Single and/or double  lane  closures, Sundays through Thursdays, 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. for storm drain installation.   
  • MD 5 between Camp Brown Road and Scotland Beach Road – Weekday single lane closures between dawn and 4 p.m. for resurfacing along northbound MD 5.                           

Wicomico County               

  • US 13 (Ocean Highway) ​Northbound and Southbound between MD 54 (E State St) and Stockyard Road – General maintenance. Single lane and shoulder closures Mondays-Thursdays from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. through mid-August.    
  • US 13 Northbound between E Carroll St and E Main St – Utility work.  Single lane and shoulder closures weekdays from 7 a.m.-5 p.m. through mid-August.   
  • US 50 (Ocean Gateway) Eastbound and Westbound between Naylor Mill Rd and US 50 (Salisbury Bypass) - Maintenance.  Single lane and shoulder closures Mondays-Thursdays from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. through mid-August.    

Worcester County                 

  • MD 376 (Assataegue Road) between US 113 (Worcester Hwy) and Flower Street – Roadway maintenance.  Single lane and shoulder closures weekdays 6 a.m.-7 p.m. through late August.      

Long-Term Closures

Allegany County          

  • MD 51 (Oldtown Road) Bridge over the C&O Canal – Crews will be closing both lanes and creating a single lane in the center of the roadway.  This traffic set up will include a temporary traffic signal alternating traffic through the single lane.  Weather permitting, the project is expected to be completed by the end of summer.                       
  • I-68 (National Freeway) to Street Road - Crews will be patching, milling, and paving.  There will be a left lane closure westbound. Signs, barrels, and cones will be in place. Work times will vary between night work and daytime work. Weather permitting, this project is expected to be completed by November. New                                                 

Anne Arundel County                    

  • MD 424 (Davidsonville Road) between MD 214 (Central Avenue) and US 50 – Daytime single lane closures between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. for resurfacing. 
  • US 50 Westbound between Ocean Drive and MD 2 – Nighttime pavement resurfacing between 8 p.m. and 5:30 a.m., Monday nights-Friday nights.       
  • MD 2 Southbound Resurfacing between Cypress Creek Road and US 50 – Nighttime single lane closures between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m,. Monday nights-Friday nights.                  

Baltimore County       

  • I-695 TSMO Project: Inner/Outer loops from US 40 (Baltimore National Pike) to I-95 Northeast (JFK Memorial Expressway) – Pipe Investigation –Intermittent overnight right/left single lane closures for pipe investigation by contractor team along Inner and Outer loops of I-695 from US 40 (Balto. National Pike) to I-95 (JFK Memorial Expressway) between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. the next day, Sundays through Thursday, August 18. Updated
  • Raphael Road overpass of I-95 (JFK Memorial Expressway) - MDTA Reconstruction Project – MDTA closed the Raphael Road overpass as part of the I-95 Express Toll Lanes (ETL) Northbound Extension project. The closure will be in place through early 2023 and traffic is being detoured to the Bradshaw Road overpass.     
  • CSX Transportation rail bridge over I-695 North (Inner Loop side) – Bridge abutment rehabilitation – Detour note: Hollins Ferry Road ramp to I-695 Inner Loop is closed for bridge work 24/7 through August 2022.    
  • I-70 Westbound between I-695 and the Patapsco River/Howard Co. Line – Asphalt Pavement Resurfacing and Safety Improvements – Single and double lane closures on westbound I-70 daytime Monday-Friday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and overnight Sunday-Thursday 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. the next day, through early 2023. There will also be temporary overnight interchange ramp closures and detours for paving work Sunday-Thursday nights.          
  • I-70 Westbound and Eastbound between the Baltimore City Line and I-695 – Concrete Pavement Resurfacing – Single and double lane closures on I-70 east of I-695 weekdays Monday-Friday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and continuously on weekends for concrete pour and cure from 9 p.m. Friday through 5 a.m. Sundays, until early 2023.      
  • US 40 (Pulaski Highway) Dual Bridges over Little Gunpowder Falls and (Big) Gunpowder Falls -Bridge rehabilitation – Traffic Pattern Change: There is a traffic split in place on both the US 40 eastbound and westbound bridges over Little Gunpowder Falls which, will be in effect through late fall 2022. Construction work will proceed on all four bridges through spring 2023, with ongoing temporary single lane closures on eastbound and westbound US 40 in the vicinity of the bridges during the following off-peak times:  Daytime (Monday-Saturday) Westbound US 40: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Eastbound US 40: 7 a.m.  to 4 p.m.  Overnight (Sunday-Thursday) Westbound and Eastbound US 40:  7 p.m. to 5 a.m. the next day. Possible Traffic Impact in Harford County.                      
  • I-695 Bridge over US 40 (Baltimore National Pike) - Bridge support structure rehabilitation – Crews are working on repairs to bridge piers and abutments with long-term traffic shifts and temporary lane closures on US 40 eastbound and westbound underneath I-695 in Catonsville through late summer 2022.            
  • US 1 (Washington Blvd.) Bridge over CSX Transportation rail lines – Bridge replacement –Clarke Blvd. at US 1 is closed/detoured 24 hours/7 days through early 2023.  Temporary single lane closures with flagging operations on US 1 in the vicinity of the bridge, when necessary, on weekdays between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Overall project completion summer 2023.     
  • MD 25 (Falls Road) between Baltimore City / County Line and I-695 – Baltimore County DPWT water line replacement project - Overnight lane closures with flagging operations along sections of Falls Road, 9 p.m.-5 a.m. the next day Sunday-Thursday, with some daytime work as needed 9 a.m.-3 p.m. through spring 2024.                   
  • MD 26 (Liberty Road) between Brenbrook Drive and N. Rolling Road - ADA Sidewalk Reconstruction/Upgrades - Temporary overnight single lane closures on MD 26 between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. the next day Sunday-Thursday and now between 9 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday through summer 2022.                       
  • MD 30 (Hanover Pike) at Mt. Gilead Road – Intersection Improvements –Daytime lane closures with flagging operations at intersection Monday through Friday, now 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m.                
  • MD 43 (White Marsh Blvd.) at Honeygo Blvd. - Intersection Widening and Improvements - Temporary daytime  lane  closures on MD 43 and Honeygo Blvd. legs of the intersection between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday-Friday, and overnight lane closures at any time between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. the next day Sunday-Thursday. When necessary, there will be temporary lane closures on weekends, 7 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday and/or Sunday through late summer 2022.                        
  • MD 140 (Reisterstown Road) between I-695 and Mt. Wilson Lane/ Grey Rock Rd. with MD 140 at Hooks Lane- Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) improvements - includes traffic signal upgrades, crosswalk markings, and paving on MD 140 and also on Hooks Lane at MD 140. Temporary daytime single lane closures on MD 140 between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday-Friday and overnight single  lane  closures on Hooks Lane approach to MD 140 between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. the next morning Sunday-Thursday through late summer 2022.          
  • MD 140 (Reisterstown Rd.) between E. Pleasant Hill Rd. and Stocksdale Ave. –Resurfacing/County Water Main replacement - Daytime single lane closures Monday-Friday 9 a.m.-3 p.m. between E. Pleasant Hill Rd and Stocksdale Ave.  Nighttime single lane closures within project limits Sunday-Thursday nights between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. the next day. Access to driveways in this section will be maintained during any lane closures.  Project scheduled through late summer 2024.               
  • MD 140 (Reisterstown Rd.) between Painters Mill Rd. and E. Pleasant Hill Rd. – Resurfacing/County Water Main replacement – project is substantially complete in summer 2022 with occasional daytime single lane closures for final construction tasks through late summer between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. between Owings Mills Blvd. and E. Pleasant Hill Rd.  Occasional nighttime single lane closures within project limits Sunday-Thursday nights between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. the next day.    
  • MD 147 (Harford Road) / Joppa Road - Intersection improvements - Daytime single lane closures and flagging operations on Harford and Joppa Road in the vicinity of the intersection Monday-Thursday 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 9 a.m.-3 p.m.  Fridays. Overnight work with lane closures Sunday-Thursday 9 p.m.-5 a.m. the next day. Lane shift in effect on eastbound Joppa Road approaching Harford Road summer 2022, with work zone barriers on right side of the street. Construction through fall 2022.                 
  • MD 151 (Sparrows Point Blvd.) / Wharf Road (MD 151 B) Interchange - Three-bridge replacement project at interchange.  One side of the existing MD 151 bridge is closed, and two-way traffic runs on the other side of the bridge (one lane in each direction). This will be in effect through 2022 and will enable traffic on MD 151 while the existing bridge over Wharf Road is removed and replaced in stages.  Southbound and northbound Wharf Road are closed/detoured at the interchange for replacement of two more bridges. Construction scheduled through summer 2024.                                     

Cecil County                         

  • MD 213 (Augustine Herman Highway) bridge over C&D Canal in Chesapeake City – U.S. Army Corps of Engineers bridge repair project. Occasional single lane closures and flagging will occur 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday-Thursday from May 9 through August 11. View real-time traffic conditions at the bridge with these cameras: MD 213 at Basil Ave.  (south  side) and MD 213 at Lock St. (north side).           
  • MD 279 (Elkton Road) at MD 277 (Fletchwood Road) – Northbound MD 279 is reduced to a single lane at the MD 277 intersection near the Delaware line and shifted across the median to a contraflow pattern (one lane in each direction).  This is part of the Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDot) reconstruction of route 279.                  

Frederick County                                            

  • US 15 Bridge Northbound over MD 77 – Bridge Deck replacement project – The right lane is closed. Each side of the bridge is expected to take six to eight months to finish. The entire project is expected to be complete by spring 2023.                                                  

Garrett County                       

  • MD 39 (Hutton Road) from Ashby Ellis to US 219 in Oakland – Drainage improvement and repaving project, flagging operation, 7 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday.
  • MD 42 (Friendsville Road) from the bridge over Buffalo Run to the Pennsylvania State Line.  Drainage improvements – Flagging operation – 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Work is expected to continue through the construction season. New
  • I-68 (National Freeway) Westbound to MD 42 – Left Lane closures in both directions to allow for median work.  Work is expected to be completed by the end of August, weather dependent. New

Harford County                                                               

  • Old Joppa Road Bridge over I-95 (MDTA project) – Bridge replacement project – Old Joppa Road closed and locally detoured.               
  • Clayton Road bridge over I-95 between MD 152 and MD 24 (MDTA project) - Clayton Road closed and detoured until early 2022.                                                 

Montgomery County      

  • I-270 ​Southbound between MD 121 (Clarksburg Road) and MD 109 (Old Hundred Road) - I-270 acceleration  lane  expansion project - Single and multiple off-peak lane closures, weekdays 9:30 a.m.to 3:30 p.m. and overnight, Sunday through Thursday, 7 p.m. to 4 a.m. through late summer.       
  • MD 97 (Georgia Avenue) from north of Gold Mine Road to south of Holiday Drive. MD 97 relocation project. Intermittent off-peak single and multiple lane closures, weekdays, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and overnight, Sunday through Thursday, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. through year-end 2022.   
  • Brookeville Road from MD 97 (Georgia Avenue) to Grayheaven Manor Road. Sewer relocation project. Full 24/7 road closure with detour through late fall 2022. Drivers should add extra commute time and use MD 97 and MD 108 as alternate routes.   
  • Brighton Dam Road near MD 97 (Georgia Avenue). MD 97 relocation project excavation and new road resurfacing work. Off-road activity with an intermittent off-peak flagging operation and single lane closures, Sunday through Saturday from sunrise to sunset through year-end 2022.   
  • MD 185 (Connecticut Avenue) at Jones Bridge Road/Kensington Parkway Intersection improvement project - Single off-peak lane closures on MD 185, weekdays, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and overnight, Sunday through Thursday, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. and single off-peak lane closures on Jones Bridge Road, weekdays, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and overnight, 7 days per week, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. through late summer 2023.               
  • MD 185 (Connecticut Avenue) at Saul Road Intersection improvement project. Single lane closures with intermittent intersection closures, weekdays, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through year-end 2022.              
  • Southbound I-270 between I-70 and I-495 (Capital Beltway) - Traffic congestion relief construction project - Intermittent single lane closures, weekdays, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and single, double, and triple overnight lane closures, Sunday through Thursday, 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. and intermittent temporary ramp closures with detours up to 24 hours a day through year-end 2022.                                                                    

Prince George’s County    

  • Cherry Hill Road over the northbound I-95 ramp at the outer loop of I-95/I-495 (Capital Beltway). Bridge painting and cleaning project. Single and multiple off-peak lane closures; 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. through late fall 2022.        
  • US 1 (Baltimore Avenue), College Avenue to MD 193 (University Boulevard) - US 1 Reconstruction Project - Corridor Improvement- Northbound and southbound single lane closures throughout the length of the project Saturday through Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 9 p.m. tm. through late summer 2023.         
  • US 1 (Baltimore Avenue) from Rhode Island Avenue to MD 212A (Powder Mill Road). Safety and resurfacing project. Off peak single and multiple lane closures, weekdays, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through late summer 2023.    
  • US 1 (Rhode Island Avenue) from Charles Armentrout Drive to Farragut Street. Rhode Island Avenue Trolley Trail project. Single and multiple off-peak lane closures, weekdays, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through the end of 2023.     
  • MD 4 (Pennsylvania Avenue) Westbound, ramp to northbound MD 980D (Ritchie Marlboro Road). Slope repair project. Full ramp closure with detour through year-end 2022. Drivers should consider MD 223 (Woodyard Road) and Old Marlboro Pike as alternate routes.          
  • MD 5 (Branch Avenue) from the DC Line to the intersection of Curtis Drive - Safety and resurfacing project. Intermittent/temporary single and multiple MD 5 northbound off-peak lane closures, weekdays, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., overnight, Sunday through Thursday 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. and weekends, 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. and weekends 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. Intermittent/temporary single  and multiple MD 5 southbound off-peak lane closures weekdays, 6 a.m. to 12 noon overnight, Sunday through Thursday, 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. and intermittent/temporary single and multiple    MD 637 single lane closures, weekdays, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and overnight, Sunday through Thursday, 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. through late summer 2022.                   
  • MD 5 (Branch Avenue) from Suitland Parkway to Curtis Drive. Median construction. Single northbound lane closure 24 hours a day through late summer 2022.                
  • MD 210 at Livingston Road/Kerby Hill Road. Interchange construction project. Intermittent   off-peak single and multiple lane closures, Monday through Saturday, 9 a.m.to 3 p.m. and overnight, Sunday through Thursday, 8 p.m.to 5 a.m. through late summer 2022.                                                                 
  • MD 212A (Powder Mill Road) from Pine Street to US 1 (Baltimore Avenue) - Roadway reconstruction project. Intermittent single and multiple lane closures weekdays, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. through late summer 2022.                  
  • MD 223 (Woodyard Road) from Sherwood Drive to Victoria Drive - Sidewalk construction project - Off-peak lane closures, weekdays, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Saturdays, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. through late fall 2022.                 
  • MD 223 (Woodyard Road) at Dower House Road - Geometric improvement project - Single weekday  lane  closures, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and overnight, Sunday through Thursday, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. through late summer 2022.                
  • MD  500 (Queens Chapel Road) from Eastern Avenue to MD 208 (Hamilton Street) Community safety and enhancement project. Intermittent single and  multiple  lane  closures  weekdays,9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and overnight, Sunday through Thursday, 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. through late summer 2022.                     
  • I-95/I-495 (Capital Beltway) from Suitland Road to MD 4 (Pennsylvania Avenue) - Suitland Parkway bridge replacement project. Road shoulder closure permissible 24 hours daily, intermittent single and multiple lane closures, weekdays, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and overnight, Sunday through Friday, 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. through year end 2022.     
  • US 1 (Baltimore Avenue) over I-495 (Capital Beltway) - Bridge painting and cleaning project. Single and multiple off-peak lane closures; 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. through the end of the year.    
  • US 50 (John Hanson Highway) Westbound, ramp over MD 295 (Baltimore-Washington Parkway) - Bridge painting and cleaning project. Single and multiple off-peak lane closures; 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. through the end of the year.             

Talbot County      

  • MD 33 (Talbot St.) from Spencer Ave. to Lee St. in St. Michaels - Sidewalk project. Occasional single-lane  closures and flagging 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday-Thursday through spring 2023.                                                    

St. Mary’s County   

  • MD 236 Resurfacing between MD 234 and MD 5 – Roadway resurfacing – daytime single lane closure with a flagging operation between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.   

Washington County       

  • I-70 Eastbound and Westbound at the MD 65 (Sharpsburg Pike) – Bridge rehabilitation and widening of I-70 bridges over MD 65 - through September, the ramp from eastbound I-70 to northbound MD 65 will be closed and motorists detoured.          
  • US 40 (W. Franklin Street) Westbound between Nottingham Road and MD 144 (West Washington Street) – Patching, milling, and paving.  Expect right and left shoulder closures, nightly lane closures from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sundays through Thursdays.
