Motorists Should Expect Weekday Single-Lane Closures with Flagging Operations on MD 543 North of I-95 Through Late Fall 2022
(August 5, 2022) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) will begin work next week on a project to patch pavement along MD 543 (Riverside Parkway/Creswell Road) from I-95 (John F. Kennedy Memorial Highway) to MD 136 (Calvary Road) in the Creswell area of Harford County.
Overnight work is scheduled to begin Sunday, August 7, and will continue nightly from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., Sunday nights through Friday mornings. Motorists should expect single-lane closures along MD 543 during work hours. Crews will use a flagging operation to direct motorists safely through the work zone. Motorists are urged to slow down and remain alert in the work zone.
The $340,000 paving project will continue to late November, weather permitting. MDOT SHA contractor Allan Myers-MD Inc., of Fallston, is performing the work.
Customers who have questions about this project may contact the MDOT SHA District 4 Office – Maintenance Division at 410-229-2300, or toll-free at 1-866-998-0367. MDOT SHA works hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones for our crews as well as our customers. Drivers need to stay alert, focus on driving and look for reduced speed limits as well as other driving pattern changes. Please drive like you work here and slow down in construction zones.
Motorists in need may dial #77 on their mobile device for roadside assistance.
