Overnight Project Includes Patching and Installation of New Driving Surface
(May 2, 2022) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) will begin A road improvement project tonight, May 2, on a section of MD 108 (Clarksville Pike) at the Howard County and Montgomery County line.
Starting at 8 p.m., crews will work on MD 108 between MD 32 (Patuxent Freeway) and the county line, just past Wainwright Road. Crews will patch potholes to smooth out the road surface and add a new layer of asphalt on almost four miles of MD 108 near Clarksville. They will continue to work overnight, 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday nights through Friday mornings, with completion of the work expected in June.
During work hours, motorists can expect a single lane closure and a flagging operation. The contractor, Allan Myers Inc., based in Jessup, will use signs, cones, electronic arrow boards and a truck-mounted attenuator to alert and guide motorists through the work zone and promote safe operations.
MDOT SHA works hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones for our crews as well as our customers. Drivers need to stay alert, focus on driving and, look for reduced speed limits, as well as other driving pattern changes. Please drive like you work here and slow down in construction zones.
Motorists in need may dial #77 on their mobile device for roadside assistance.
