​One-Day Detour Required Sunday, May 1, as Crews Replace a Damaged Pipe

(April 29, 2022) – This Sunday, May 1, the Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) will conduct a one-day project to improve drainage on MD 75 (Green Valley Road) in Ijamsville, Frederick County.    

Starting at 5 a.m., crews will close both lanes of MD 75 at Prices Distillery Road so crews can remove a damaged drainage pipe underneath the roadway and install a new pipe. The work is expected to be complete by 5 p.m. the same day.   

While work is taking place, motorists will be directed to the following detours:

• Traveling on southbound MD 75: Traffic will be detoured to Browningsville Road, which turns into Bethesda Church Road. From there, Clarksburg Road to northbound MD 355 (Frederick Road) and back to MD 75.   
• Traveling on northbound MD 75: Traffic will be directed to stay on northbound MD 355 (Urbana Pike) to eastbound MD 80 (Fingerboard Road) to connect to MD 75.

Local access will only be permitted for emergency vehicles.
MDOT SHA works hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones for our crews as well as our customers. Drivers need to stay alert, focus on driving, and look for reduced speed limits, as well as other driving pattern changes. Please drive like you work here and slow down in construction zones.
