Crews Will Replace Damaged Pipe Across MD 355; Detour Required 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
(March 3, 2022) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) will perform a project Sunday, March 6, to improve drainage on MD 355 (Urbana Pike) in Frederick County by replacing a damaged drainage pipe under the roadway. Beginning at 7 a.m., both lanes of MD 355 between Reels Mill Road and Ball Road will be closed to allow crews to safely replace the pipe. The work is expected to be complete by 3 p.m.
While the work is taking place, motorists will be detoured using Araby Church Road, which connects to MD 355 north and south of the project limits. Local access will be available for residential and commercial traffic.
MDOT SHA works hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones for our crews as well as our customers. Drivers need to stay alert, focus on driving and look for reduced speed limits, as well as other driving pattern changes. Please drive like you work here and slow down in construction zones.
Motorists in need may dial #77 on their mobile device for roadside assistance.
