County to Install Sewer Line; 60-Day Continuous Closure of MD 222
(February 10, 2022) – MD 222 (Bainbridge Road) near the Port Deposit area in Cecil County will be closed by a contractor working for the Cecil County Department of Public Works to install a new sewer line.
Beginning Monday, February 14, a private contractor, working in conjunction with Cecil County, will install a new sewer line under MD 222 (Bainbridge Road) between Frenchtown Road and South Main Street. This project requires a full, continuous closure of MD 222 at the work area. This closure is expected to be in place for approximately 60 days or until the work is complete.
Detour signs will be posted for motorists to use MD 276 (Jacob Tome Memorial Highway) and MD 275 (Perrylawn Drive) to get around the closure. The extended closure is necessary to ensure the safety of motorists and workers. The work is not a Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) project, though MDOT SHA is assisting Cecil County in raising public awareness. For more information contact the Cecil County Engineering and Construction Office at 410-996-5268.
