Daytime Work Over Two Days will Include Asphalt Overlay on Bridge Deck
(November 24, 2021) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) will conduct a project next week to improve safety and ride quality on the US 1 (Bel Air Bypass) bridge over MD 924 (Rock Spring Road) in Harford County. On Monday, November 29, and Tuesday, November 30, MDOT SHA and its contractor will apply an asphalt overlay on the bridge deck (riding surface).
The work will require daytime lane closures and flagging operations to manage two-way traffic over the bridge between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday and Tuesday. In case of inclement weather, the bridge work will take place the next possible weekday.
MDOT SHA’s areawide contractor Gray and Son Inc. of Timonium is performing the work. Motorists who have questions about this work may contact the MDOT SHA District 4 Office – Construction Division at 410-229-2300 or toll-free at 1-866-998-0367.
MDOT SHA works hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones for our crews as well as our customers. Drivers need to stay alert, focus on driving and look for reduced speed limits. Please drive like you work here and slowdown in construction zones.
Motorists can dial #77 on their mobile device for roadside assistance.
