​Daytime Lane and Shoulder Closures Scheduled November 1-5

  (October 29, 2021) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) is continuing final tasks on improvements along I-695 (Baltimore Beltway) in the Catonsville area of Baltimore County, and will perform work Monday, November 1, through Friday, November 5. The work will require some daytime single-lane and shoulder closures along southbound I-695 (Outer Loop) and northbound I-695 (Inner Loop) at the following two locations:   

• I-695 Southwest Outer Loop from US 40 (National Pike) to MD 372 (Wilkens Avenue) - temporary acceleration and deceleration lane, right shoulder and left shoulder closures at Edmondson Avenue and Frederick Road interchanges 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.   
• I-695 Northwest Inner Loop from MD 144 (Frederick Road) to US 40 (National Pike) - temporary single left lane and left shoulder closures along Inner Loop 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.   

There may be additional temporary left or right shoulder closures along the Inner and Outer Loops as construction equipment and personnel move through the work zone during the day next week. The work is part of MDOT SHA’s project to widen this section of I-695. Learn more about the project HERE.   

MDOT SHA works hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones for our crews as well as our customers. Drivers need to stay alert, focus on driving and look for reduced speed limits, as well as other driving pattern changes.
