Baltimore County/Harford County line       

  • US 40 Dual Bridges over Little Gunpowder Falls and (Big) Gunpowder Falls – Bridge Replacement - Single lane closures possible on US 40 East and West in the vicinity of the bridges at any time between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Saturdays through late fall 2021.

  • I-695 Inner Loop from MD 144 (Frederick Rd.) to US 40 (National Pike)  – Southwest Outer Loop Widening Project - Daytime single left lane closure on Inner Loop 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday, 10/18 through Friday 10/22. New   
  • I-695 Outer Loop from south of US 40 to MD 144 - Southwest Outer Loop Widening Project – Daytime interchange ramp work with traffic shifts on ramps to/from Outer Loop possible at any time along at Edmondson Ave. and MD 144 interchanges 7 a.m.-3 p.m. New   
  • I-695 Inner and Outer Loops from US 40 (National Pike) to MD 26 (Liberty Rd.) – Lighting Work – Daytime right shoulder closure / mobile operations 9 a.m.-3 p.m. scheduled Monday 10/18 through Friday 10/22. New

Frederick County

  • MD 355 (Urbana Pike) at Bennett Creek, between Campus Dr/Thornapple Dr and Big Woods/Dr Perry Rd – Emergency pipe repairs – Road will be closed starting at 9 p.m. on Friday, October 15 and ending by 5 a.m. on Monday, October 18 so crews can repair drainage pipes damaged in recent flooding. The detour route uses MD 109, I-270 and MD 80. New
  • HIGH IMPACT MD 85: Exit ramp on northbound MD 85 to northbound I-270 – Construction project ramp tie-in work – Exit ramp will close starting at 9 p.m. on Friday, October 22 and reopen by 5 a.m. on Monday, October 25. Detour uses westbound I-70 to northbound US 15. The left lane on the southbound MD 85 ramp to northbound I-270 will also be closed. Upcoming
  • I-270: Exit ramp from southbound I-270 to northbound MD 85 and exit ramp from northbound MD 85 to southbound I-270 - Pipe installation - Overnight closures from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday night through Friday. The work and closures are expected to continue through the fall season.     
  • MD 80 (Fingerboard Road) between Thurston Road and MD 355 (Urbana Pike) - Highway maintenance pavement patching - Single lane closures and flagging Sundays through Thursdays from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. the next morning. MD 80 ramps at northbound I-270 will close when crews work at that location. Motorists will be detoured. This project is expected to be complete in October.     
  • MD 26 (Liberty Road) between MD 194 and Chestnut Grove Road– Highway maintenance pavement patching and overlay – Single lane closures Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday daytime work is possible. The project is expected to be complete in November.    
  • MD 17 (Burkittsville Road) between US 340 and the border of Burkittsville, north of Brownsville Pass Road – Highway maintenance pavement patching and overlay – Single lane closures Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday daytime work is possible. The project is expected to be complete in November.

Garrett County    

  • I-68 (National Freeway) - Eastbound Mile Post 5-Mile Post 7 – Milling in the Truck Climbing Lane (far right lane) - Milling and paving, 2 miles – 7:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m.

Harford County   

  • US 40 (Pulaski Hwy.) from Robinhood Rd. to MD 7A (Post Rd./Revolution St.) – Highway maintenance pavement repair, milling and resurfacing in Havre de Grace - Overnight single lane closures and lane shifts on eastbound and westbound US 40 Sunday-Thursday, between 7 p.m. and 5 a.m. the next day, through late fall 2021.       
  • US 40 (Pulaski Hwy.) MD 7A (Post Rd./Revolution St.) to Otsego St.– Highway maintenance pavement repair, milling and resurfacing in Havre de Grace - Daytime single lane closures and lane shifts on eastbound and westbound US 40 Monday – Friday between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. through late fall 2021.      
  • MD 624 (Graceton Rd.) from MD 165 (Pylesville Rd.) to MD/PA State line – Highway Maintenance paving work - Weekday single lane closures with flagging operations between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday-Friday, Saturdays when needed between 6 a.m. and 2 p.m. through late fall 2021.    
  • MD 924 South (Kenmore Avenue) between US 1 and Main Street, and MD 924 (Emmorton Road) between Ring Factory Road and Plumtree Road -Roadway resurfacing and traffic signal upgrades - Occasional concrete curb, ramp, sidewalk work on sections of MD 924 with temporary lane closures through late fall 2021.  MD 924 from Ring Factory Rd. to Plumtree Rd. Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. and Sunday-Thursday, 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. the next day; MD 924 from US 1 to Kenmore Ave. Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. and Sunday-Thursday, 9 p.m.-5 a.m. the next day through late fall 2021.   

Howard County           

  • Northbound MD 32 Ramp to Westbound I-70 – Construction project widening – Ramp closed starting at 9 p.m. on Monday, October 18 and will reopen by 5 a.m. the following morning. Detour uses the next intersection at Livestock Road to make a U-turn onto southbound MD 32 to access that direction’s exit ramp to westbound I-70. New   
  • MD 32 (Patuxent Freeway) at Dorsey Run Road – Ramp reconstruction – Ramp from Dorsey Run Road to westbound MD 32 will be closed starting at 7 p.m. on Sunday, October 17 for repairs and new surface. The work is expected to take one to two weeks. Updated   
  • MD 32 (Patuxent Freeway) between the Anne Arundel County line, south of Dorsey Run Road, and US 1 – Highway maintenance patching and resurfacing – Single lane closures with a flagging operation overnight Sundays through Thursdays until 5 a.m. the following day. The project is expected to be complete in November.      
  • MD 108 (Clarksville Pike) between Linden Linthicum Lane and the Little Patuxent River bridge, east of Davidge Drive – Highway maintenance patching and resurfacing - Single lane closures with a flagging operation Sundays through Thursdays from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning. The project is expected to complete in November.  

Montgomery & Prince George’s Counties

  • MD 410 (East West Highway) at MD 186 (Brookville Road). Inlet/sidewalk construction project. Single, off-peak lane closures, weekdays, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through year-end 2021.    
  • MD 650 (New Hampshire Avenue) from the I-495 (Capital Beltway) ramps to Oakview Drive. Resurfacing project. Single and multiple off-peak lane closures, weekdays 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and overnight, Sunday through Thursday, 9 p.m. to   5 a.m. through late fall 2021.    

Prince George’s County     

  • MD 223 (Woodyard Road) from Sherwood Drive to Victoria Drive. Sidewalk construction project. Off-peak lane closures, weekdays, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Saturdays, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. through late fall 2022.    
  • MD 223 (Woodyard Road) at Dower House Road. Geometric improvement p project.    Single weekday lane closures, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and overnight, Sunday through Thursday, 9 p.m. to     5 a.m. through year-end 2021.   
  • I-95/I-495 (Capital Beltway) from Suitland Road to MD 4 (Pennsylvania Avenue).  Suitland Parkway bridge replacement project. Off-peak single and multiple lane closures, weekdays, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and overnight, Sunday through Friday, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. through year-end 2021.

St. Mary's County

  • MD 5 between Abell/Moakley Streets and MD 245 (Hollywood Road) - Daytime single lane closures, Monday through Friday nights.

  • MD 528 North and South between 38th St and 75th St – street light maintenance with 3 lane closures from 8:00am – 3:00pm weekdays through December 31.       
  • MD 376 East and West between US 113 (Ocean Highway) and MD 611 (Stephen Decatur Highway) - Street light maintenance with single lane, shoulder closures and possible flagging operations from 8:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. weekdays through December 31.           
  • MD 528 (Philadelphia Ave) North between 85th and 87th street – utility work with single lane and shoulder closure 7:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Monday-Saturday October 18-November 5. New      
  • MD 378 (Baltimore Ave) North from MD 528 (S. 1st Street) to Surf Ave – single lane closure for Town of Ocean City Special Event from 6:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Saturday October 16. New

Long-Term Closures

Allegany County       

  • MD 51 (Industrial Boulevard) between Canal Parkway and Second Street – Bridge Rehabilitation – Northbound side of bridge closed - traffic is shifted onto the southbound side of the bridge – one lane traffic in each direction.       
  • MD 51 (Oldtown Road) over the C&O Canal near Paw Paw Tunnel – Bridge Rehabilitation - both lanes are closed and a temporary traffic signal is rotating traffic through a single center lane.               
  • MD 135 West of the MD 36 Intersection and MD 135 and River Road area Westernport/Bloomington – Bank stabilization - northbound lane will be closed – southbound lane will be used for commute lane -Traffic signage, barriers, lights and flaggers will be in place to direct and maintain traffic control.                                         

Baltimore County

  • Cove Road bridge over I-695 - Bridge deck replacement - On I-695, daytime single lane closures in both directions may occur Monday-Friday between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. and overnight lane closures Sunday-Thursday between 7 p.m. and 5 a.m. the next day. On the Cove Road bridge over I-695, long-term single lane closures are in effect, with two-way traffic on the southern side of the bridge deck.  
  • I-70 bridges over Patapsco River and CSX Rail Line at Baltimore/Howard Co. Line –  Bridge Parapet Rehabilitation - Single lane closures Monday-Friday between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. and overnight single and double lane closures Sunday-Thursday between 7 p.m.  and 5 a.m. the next morning. Lane closures permitted when needed on Saturdays between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.                 
  • I-83 (Baltimore-Harrisburg Expressway) North and South Bridges over Padonia Road – Dual Bridge replacement and interchange improvements. There may be single lane closures on I-83 North and I-83 South between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday-Friday and between 7 p.m. and 5 a.m. the next day Sunday-Thursday. Single lane closures on Padonia Rd. West between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday-Saturday, and between 8 p.m.  and 5 a.m. the next day Sunday - Thursday.  Detours of Padonia Rd. underneath I-83 possible on any weeknight (Sunday-Thursday) between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. the next morning. Note: Interchange Ramp from Padonia Road East to I-83 North closed 24 hours/7 days until project is complete.                    
  • MD 695A (Broening Hwy.) between Maryland Ave. and east of Ralls Ave. at Baltimore City/County Line in Dundalk - Roadway Resurfacing and Safety Improvements – Daytime single lane closures on Broening Hwy. between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday-Thursday and between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. Friday. Overnight double lane closures with traffic lane shifts on Broening Hwy. between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. the next day Sunday-Thursday.  
  • US 40 Dual Bridges over Little Gunpowder Falls and (Big) Gunpowder Falls – Four bridges to be replaced between White Marsh and Joppatowne – Weekdays: Single lane closures Eastbound US 40 (towards Aberdeen) 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Westbound US 40 (towards Baltimore) 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Weeknights: Single lane closures eastbound and westbound US 40 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the next day, Sunday-Thursday nights.  Saturdays:  Single lane closures Eastbound and Westbound US 40 in the vicinity of the bridges at any time between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Saturdays. Possible Traffic Impact in Harford County.
  • US 1 (Washington Blvd.) Bridge over CSX Transportation rail lines – Bridge replacement – As of June 10, Clarke Blvd. at US 1 is closed/detoured 24 hours, 7 days/week for one year.  Posted detour route includes Selford Rd., Francis Ave., Oregon and Carville Aves., Tom Day Blvd. and US 1 Alt. (Southwestern Blvd.)         
  • MD 26 (Liberty Road) between Brenbrook Drive and N. Rolling Road - ADA Sidewalk Reconstruction/Upgrades - Temporary single lane closures on MD 26 between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. the next day Sunday-Thursday and between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. Monday-Thursday through late October 2021.         
  • MD 43 (White Marsh Blvd.) at Honeygo Blvd. - Intersection Widening and Improvements - Temporary daytime lane closures on MD 43 and Honeygo Blvd. legs of the intersection between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday-Friday, and overnight lane closures at any time between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. the next day Sunday-Thursday. When necessary, there will be temporary lane closures on weekends, 7 a.m.-1 p.m.   
  • MD 140 (Reisterstown Rd.) between Painters Mill Rd. and E. Pleasant Hill Rd. – Resurfacing/County Water Main replacement - Crews currently installing new 36-inch water main from Owings Mills Blvd. to East Pleasant Hill road with connections to fire hydrants and buildings along MD 140. Daytime single lane closures between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. between Owings Mills Blvd. and E. Pleasant Hill Rd.  Nighttime single lane closures within project limits Sunday-Thursday nights between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. the next day.  Access to all driveways in this section will be maintained during any lane closures.     
  • MD 140 (Reisterstown Rd.) between E. Pleasant Hill Rd. and Stocksdale Ave. – Resurfacing/County Water Main replacement - Daytime single lane closures Monday-Friday 9 a.m.-3 p.m. between E. Pleasant Hill Rd and Stocksdale Ave.  Nighttime single lane closures within project limits Sunday-Thursday nights between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. the next day.  Access to driveways in this section will be maintained during any lane closures.                
  • MD 147 (Harford Rd.) / Joppa Rd. - Intersection Improvements - Daytime single lane closures and flagging operations on Harford and Joppa Road in the vicinity of the intersection Monday-Thursday 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Fridays.  Overnight work with lane closures Sunday-Thursday 9 p.m.-5 a.m. the next day.  Traffic lane shift now in effect 24/7 along southbound MD 147 at Joppa Rd.                  
  • MD 151 (Sparrows Pt. Blvd.) / Wharf Road (MD 151 B) Interchange - Three-bridge replacement project at interchange.  The southbound side of the existing MD 151 bridge is closed and two-way traffic - one lane in each direction - runs on the northbound side of the bridge.  This will be in effect for the next year and will enable partial demolition of the existing bridge over Wharf Road and future construction of the new bridge.  This is in addition to the detours of southbound and northbound Wharf Road at the interchange.   
    • NOTES: As of May 12, 2021 the northbound side of MD 151 is closed between the Baltimore County Highways Maintenance Shop (1500 block) and the Wharf Rd. Interchange.  Two-way traffic will run on the southbound side of MD 151 , one lane in each direction. The existing ramp from Northbound MD 151 to southbound Wharf Road is open for local  traffic only.           

Calvert County 

  • MD 2 (Solomons Island Road) at the Governor Thomas Johnson Bridge – Nighttime flagging operation between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m., Monday through Thursday nights.    

Cecil County

  • ​MD 279 (Elkton Road) at MD 277 (Fletchwood Road) – Northbound MD 279 is reduced to a single lane at the MD 277 intersection near the Delaware line and shifted across the median to a contraflow pattern (one lane in each direction).  This is part of the Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDot) reconstruction of route 279.  Updated

Frederick County                        

  • I-270 (Eisenhower Highway) Southbound from MD 121 (Clarksburg Road) to MD 109 (Old Hundred Road) I-270 acceleration lane expansion project. Single and multiple off-peak lane closures, weekdays 9:30 a.m.to 3:30 p.m. and overnight, Sunday through Thursday, 7 p.m. to 4 a.m. through year-end 2021.  Possible Traffic Impact in Frederick County. 

Harford County

  • Old Joppa Road Bridge over I-95 (MDTA project) – Bridge replacement project – Old Joppa Road closed and locally detoured.                                  
  • Clayton Road bridge over I-95 between MD 152 and MD 24 (MDTA project) - Clayton Road closed and detoured until early 2022.                                 
  • MD 24 (Vietnam Veterans Memorial Hwy.) - from US 1 Bypass to MacPhail Road - Pavement resurfacing project - Overnight single lane closures and traffic shifts Sunday through Thursday 9 p.m. - 5 a.m. through mid-fall 2021. MSP will control traffic when needed during work at intersections.

Montgomery County      

  • MD 410 (East West Highway) at MD 186 (Brookville Road). Inlet/sidewalk construction project. Single, off-peak lane closures, weekdays, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through year-end 2021. 
  • MD 185 (Connecticut Avenue) at Jones Bridge Road/Kensington Parkway. Intersection improvement project. Single off-peak lane closures on MD 185, weekdays, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and overnight, Sunday through Thursday, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. and single off-peak lane closures on Jones Bridge Road, weekdays, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and overnight, 7 days per week, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. through late summer 2023.       
  • US 29 (Colesville Road) from St. Andrews Way to Stewart Lane. -Safety and resurfacing project - Single daytime lane closures, weekdays, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and single/multiple off-peak overnight lane closures, Sunday through Thursday, 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. through year-end 2021.    
  • MD 97 (Georgia Avenue) from north of Gold Mine Road to south of Holiday Drive. - Roadway relocation project.- Intermittent single northbound and southbound lane closures weekdays, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and overnight, Sunday through Thursday, 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. through year-end 2022.   
  • MD 190 (River Road) from MD 188 (Wilson Lane) to MD 614 (Goldsboro Road). Roadway improvement project. Single lane closures, weekdays, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and multiple lane closures, overnight, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. through late fall 2021.    
  • I-270 (Eisenhower Highway) from Interstate 70 to I-495 (Capital Beltway). - Traffic congestion relief construction project - Intermittent single lane closures, weekdays,      10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and single, double and triple overnight lane closures, Sunday through Thursday, 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. and intermittent temporary ramp closures with detours up to 24 hours a day through year-end 2022.   
  • I-270 (Eisenhower Highway) Southbound from MD 121 (Clarksburg Road) to MD 109 (Old Hundred Road). I-270 acceleration lane expansion project.   • Seminary Road from Hale Street to MD 192 (Forest Glen Road) - Bridge rehabilitation project - Intermittent left and right single northbound and southbound lane closures, weekdays, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and overnight, Sunday through Thursday, 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. through late fall 2021.    
  • Inner and Outer Loops of I-495 (Capital Beltway) from MD 97 (Georgia Avenue) to MD 185 (Connecticut Avenue). Bridge rehabilitation project. Intermittent single weekday single lane closures, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and intermittent off=peak single and multiple lane closures with intermittent full traffic stops, Sunday through Thursday, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. through late fall 2021.  

Prince George’s County               

  • US 1 (Baltimore Avenue) College Ave. to MD 193 (University Boulevard) - US 1 Reconstruction Project - Corridor Improvement- Northbound and southbound single lane closures throughout the length of the project Saturday through Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. through late summer 2023.     
  • MD 5 (Branch Avenue) from the DC Line to the intersection of Curtis Drive.  Safety and resurfacing project. Intermittent/temporary single and multiple MD 5 northbound off-peak lane closures, weekdays, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., overnight, Sunday through Thursday 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. and weekends, 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. and weekends 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. Intermittent/temporary single and multiple MD 5 southbound off-peak lane closures weekdays, 6 a.m. to 12 noon overnight, Sunday through Thursday, 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. and intermittent/temporary single and multiple MD 637 single lane closures, weekdays, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and overnight, Sunday through Thursday, 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. through late spring 2022.      ​
  • MD 210 (Indian Head Highway) at Kerby Hill Road/Livingston Road. Interchange construction project. Intermittent single and multiple-off peak lane closures on all roads, weekdays, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and overnight, Sunday through Thursday, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. through year-end 2021. 
  • MD 212A (Powder Mill Road) from Pine Street to US 1 (Baltimore Avenue). Roadway reconstruction project. Intermittent single and multiple lane closures weekdays, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. through late summer 2022.       
  • Eastbound MD 214 (Central Avenue) ramp to northbound I-95/I-495 (Capital Beltway). Bridge construction project. Full ramp closure with detour through year-end 2021. Drivers should use the signed detour route of eastbound MD 214 to northbound MD 202 (Largo Road) to westbound MD 214 to access northbound I-95/I-495).        
  • MD 500 (Queens Chapel Road) from Eastern Avenue to MD 208 (Hamilton Street). Community safety and enhancement project. Intermittent single and multiple lane closures weekdays, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and overnight, Sunday through Thursday, 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. through late summer 2022.    
  • Southbound I-95/I-495 (Capital Beltway) ramp to eastbound MD 214 (Central Avenue) – Bridge replacement project – Total ramp closure with traffic using the Capital Beltway/MD 202 (Largo Road) interchange and then to MD 214 via MD 202 to year-end 2021.          
  • I-95/I-495 (Capital Beltway) over Suitland Road. Bridge replacement project. Intermittent single and multiple lane closures, weekdays, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and overnight, Sunday through Thursday, 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. and weekends, Saturday night 6 p.m. to 11 a.m. Sunday morning through late fall 2021.      
  • I-95/I-495 (Capital Beltway) from Suitland Road to MD 4 (Pennsylvania Avenue). Suitland Parkway bridge replacement project. Road shoulder closure permissible 24 hours daily, intermittent single and multiple lane closures, weekdays, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and overnight, Sunday through Friday, 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. through year-end 2021.                  

Washington County               

  • I-70 Eastbound and Westbound at the MD 65 Interchange – Bridge rehabilitation and widening of I 70 bridge over MD 65- Left shoulder closed EB/WB long term for phase 1 work. Intermittent, single lane closures at nighttime from Sunday through Thursday between midnight and 5 a.m. on I-70. Additionally, alternating/single lane closures will be performed between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., weekdays on MD 65 North and South.
