(July 23, 2021) – The Maryland Department of Transportation Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) will continue paving work, installation of traffic counting devices and removal of work zone barriers on I-695 (Baltimore Beltway) in the Catonsville area of Baltimore County from Sunday evening, July 25, through Friday morning, July 30. The work will require daytime and nighttime lane closures along the Inner and Outer Loop of I-695 between US 40 (Baltimore National Pike) and MD 144 (Frederick Road).
Beginning Sunday evening, crews will work at night re-pave the approaches to the I-695 Outer Loop bridges over Ingleside Avenue and Edmondson Avenue and the transitions from existing paving to new paving at each end of the project. Crews will be permitted to work at night on the Outer Loop between US 40 (Baltimore National Pike) and MD 144 (Frederick Road) with single lane closures at 7 p.m. and double lane closures at 10 p.m. until 5 a.m. the next morning, Sunday through Thursday.
During the day crews will be permitted to work on the shoulders from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, with single lane closures possible from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. During daytime work hours, contractor crews will install automated traffic counting devices, remove temporary work zone barriers and clean highway drainage system inlets and pipes.
