​High Impact Project will Require Multiple Lane Closures Overnight through Friday Morning

(July 12, 2021) - The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) will continue installation of new safety devices on I-695 (Baltimore Beltway) in the Catonsville area of Baltimore County tonight at 8 p.m. The work includes installing traffic-counting devices and sealing and painting bridge deck joints on I-695.

The overnight work will at times require multiple lane closures on both the Inner and Outer Loops of I-695 between US 40 (Baltimore National Pike) and MD 372 (Wilkens Avenue). Crews will work from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., the next morning through Friday, July 16, weather permitting. Motorists should plan for extra travel time or use alternate routes for the following lane closures:

July 12-15 (Monday – Thursday nights)

Outer Loop: US 40 (Baltimore National Pike) to MD 144 (Frederick Road) – install traffic-counting devices along I-695 outer loop:

• Single lane closure 8 p.m. - 5 a.m.
• Double and triple lane closures 10 p.m. - 5 a.m.

Inner Loop: MD 372 (Wilkens Ave.) to US 40 (Baltimore National Pike) - seal and paint bridge deck joints on inner loop bridges over Edmondson Avenue and Ingleside Avenue:

• Single lane closure 8 p.m. - 5 a.m.
• Double and triple lane closures 10 p.m. - 5 a.m.
