(May 21, 2021) - The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) will begin improving the roadway surface of MD 194 (Francis Scott Key Highway) in the Keymar area of Carroll County on Monday, May 24. Starting at 8 a.m., crews will be resurfacing the roadway between the Little Pipe Creek Bridge north of Keymar Road and Big Pipe Creek, south of Keysville Bruceville Road. Work is expected to complete by July.

MDOT SHA’s contractor, C.J. Miller, LLC, will work weekdays 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Crews will use a flagging operation to safely perform the work. Signs, cones and barrels will be used to notify motorists about the work zone.

MDOT SHA works hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones for our crews as well as our customers. Drivers need to stay alert, focus on driving and, look for reduced speed limits, as well as other driving pattern changes. Drive like you work here and slow down in construction zones.
