(April 22, 2021) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) is improving the roadway surface on sections of MD 137 (Mt. Carmel Road) and MD 45 (York Road) in northern Baltimore County this spring. On Tuesday, April 27, crews will begin resurfacing MD 137 between Gunpowder Road and MD 25 (Falls Road). Work is already underway on MD 45 between the area north of Gifford Road and Middletown Road. Both projects are expected to be complete in June.

On MD 137, MDOT SHA’s contractor Gray and Son, Inc. of Timonium will have daytime lane closures with a flagging operation weekdays between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.

On MD 45, MDOT SHA’s contractor Allan Myers – MD, Inc. of Fallston is performing the work. Motorists can expect overnight lane closures with flagging operations Sundays through Thursdays between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. the next day.

MDOT SHA works hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones for our crews as well as our customers.  Drivers need to stay alert, focus on driving and, look for reduced speed limits, as well as other driving pattern changes.  Drive like you work here and slow down in construction zones.
