(February 8, 2021) - The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) today was named to Training Magazine’s Top 100 for the second consecutive year.

“We are honored to receive this recognition for the dynamic training and development programs we offer to our team members,” Administrator Tim Smith said. “We are committed to ensuring that our employees, from those who build and maintain the highways to executives who provide direction and leadership, are exposed to the same quality training.”

The Training Top 100 Award winners are the organizations internationally with the most successful learning and development programs. Newly rebranded from the Training Top 125 to the Training Top 100, this has been the premier learning industry awards program for more than 20 years.

MDOT SHA’s Organizational Development Division provides a variety of opportunities that include mentoring and continuing education. Initiatives such as the Leadership Education and Development program (LEAD), Professional Enrichment Program (PEP) and, Advanced Leadership Program (ALP), take participants through an instructor-led curriculum that focuses on career development.

MDOT SHA was the only government agency to receive the award, which was presented today in a virtual ceremony.
