I-95 sign
(January 7, 2021) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) will close two lanes of the I-95/I-495 Outer Loop (Capital Beltway) bridges at Suitland Parkway beginning tomorrow, Jan. 8, to perform inlet repairs in Upper Marlboro, Prince George’s County. The closures will begin at 7 p.m. and work is expected to be complete by 5 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 9.
Starting at 7 p.m., crews will close one lane on I-95/I-495 Outer Loop between Exit 9, Forestville Road, and Exit 11, MD 4 (Pennsylvania Avenue). At 9 p.m., crews will close a second lane. Two through lanes will be maintained during the work.
This northbound bridge work is part of the $36 million I-95/I-495 over Suitland Parkway bridge replacement project, which is expected to be complete by the end of 2021. For more information, visit the Project Portal Site.
MDOT SHA works hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones for our crews as well as our customers. Drivers need to stay alert, focus on driving and, look for reduced speed limits, as well as other driving pattern changes. Drive like you work here and slow-down in construction zones.
