Project Includes Replacement of Charles Street Bridge over I-695, Interchange Area Improvements, and Rehabilitation of I-695 Bridge over Light Rail          
          
          
Who: State Highway Administration (SHA) representatives

What: SHA will host an Informational Public Meeting about upcoming improvements to the I-695 (Baltimore Beltway)/Charles Street (MD 139) interchange in Towson and to the I-695 bridge over the Light Rail, between Charles Street and I-83 northbound.           
          
No formal presentation will be given. Citizens may view project display stations at their own pace. SHA representatives will be available at the stations to answer questions about the upcoming project and potential traffic impacts during construction.           
          
When: Tuesday, March 11, 2008 between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.

Why: SHA is undertaking a major highway construction project to improve the I-695/Charles Street interchange. SHA will replace the existing Charles Street Bridge over I-695 with a new bridge which would accommodate future widening of I-695, and reconfigure the interchange area to provide for future travel needs. The project also includes rehabilitation of the bridge carrying I-695 over the Light Rail. Construction is slated to begin fall 2008.
