Ravens/Redskins Game Combined with Labor Day Weekend Traffic to Cause Delays

 

(August 28, 2019) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) is urging motorists to adjust their afternoon commute times on Thursday, Aug. 29, when those traveling to the Baltimore Ravens/Washington Redskins NFL pre-season game in Landover will converge with Labor Day weekend getaway traffic, particularly in Prince George’s County. Travelers also should consider using Metro.
 
MDOT SHA recommends drivers leave earlier or later than usual, use public transportation, carpool and use ride-sharing services Thursday. Motorists should also inspect their vehicles before hitting the road to avoid possible extended wait times for disabled vehicle services and use their preferred mobile app to help find alternate routes to their destinations.  Real-time traffic information may be obtained at md511.maryland.gov.
