(December 7, 2018) – Beginning 7 a.m., Saturday, December 8, the Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) will close Jumpers Hole Road under the MD 100 Bridge in Anne Arundel County. The closure and detour of Jumpers Hole Road is necessary for crews to complete repairs as the result of a truck crash. The bridge is structurally sound. All lanes of Jumpers Hole Road will open no later than 5 a.m. Monday, December 10.

Motorists will be directed to MD 177 (Mountain Road) and MD 2 (Governor Ritchie Highway) during the detour. Access to businesses will be maintained up to the point of the closure. The work will occur rain or shine. MDOT SHA’s contractor for the repair is PDI Sheetz, Inc. of Linthicum.

MDOT SHA appreciates motorist’s patience during this repair. While MDOT SHA and its transportation partners work hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones, each driver needs to actively modify his or her driving style to help prevent crashes. Stay alert and look for reduced speed limits, narrow driving lanes and highway workers. Slow down and don’t follow too closely. Work Zone Safety is in Your Hands.
