Major Weekend Lane Closures

Allegany County

• Eastbound I-68 between MD 36 (New George’s Creek Road SW) and MD 658 (Vocke Road) – Bridge welding operation of the I-68 bridge over MD 53 (Winchester Road) – Eastbound I-68 to close and be detoured onto US 40 Alternate beginning Sunday. This operation will continue each evening for two weeks, then crews will shift to westbound I-68. The closure and detour will be from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m. Sunday nights through Friday mornings. Anne Arundel County

 

• SPECIAL EVENT – Washington Capitals vs. Toronto Maple Leafs at Navy/Marine Corp. Stadium in Annapolis – Expect delays on US 50 approaching Annapolis, as well as I-97 and other State-maintained roads in the Annapolis/Parole vicinity. Game time is 8 p.m. new

• US 50 on the Severn River Bridge – Lane widening project – Single lane closures 7 days a week – Single lane closures 7 p.m. and 5 a.m. (double lanes 11 p.m. until 5 a.m.)

 

• Inner loop of I-695 at the Curtis Creek Drawbridge – Drawbridge repair – (MDTA project) Inner loop I-695 closed and traffic in two-way operation using the outer loop of I-695 until November 2018.

Montgomery County

• Inner and outer loop of I-495 (Capital Beltway) between MD 97 (Georgia Avenue) and MD 185 (Connecticut Avenue) – Seminary Road bridge rehabilitation project – Occasional single lane closures Sunday nights through Friday mornings between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m.

• MD 355 (Wisconsin Avenue) between Waverly Street and Willow Lane (at 7272 Wisconsin Avenue) - Private /commercial demolition/construction project - Intermittent southbound lane closures with sidewalk closures Mondays through Fridays between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. and/or Sunday nights to Friday mornings between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m.

• US 29 (Colesville Road) between I-495 (Capital Beltway) and MD 97 (Georgia Avenue) - WSSC water line replacement project - Single and double lane closures Mondays through Fridays between 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Sundays through Friday mornings between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. Single lane closures Saturday between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. through the end of February.

Prince George’s County

• Northbound I-95 (outer loop of I-495) Bridge over Glenarden Parkway – Bridge deck maintenance - Single, double and triple lane (at 11 p.m.) closures beginning Sunday until late-March. Work will take place Sunday nights through Friday mornings from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.

Carroll County

• MD 30 Business (Main Street) between North Woods Trail and the CSX Railroad tracks – Urban reconstruction project – Single lane closures with a flagging operation Mondays through Saturdays between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m. until project completion, fall 2019/winter 2020.

Charles County

 

• MD 234 (Budds Creek Road) Bridge over Gilbert Swamp Run – Bridge replacement –Single lane closure guided by a temporary traffic signal until spring.

 

• MD 6 (Charles Street) Bridge over Zekiah Swamp – Bridge deck replacement – Single lane closure guided by a temporary traffic signal until spring.

Frederick County

• Southbound I-270 ramp to southbound MD 85 (Buckeystown Pike) – Drain pipe installation/part of interchange reconstruction project – Ramp closure and detour beginning at 10 p.m. Monday and Tuesday until 5 a.m. each morning. Detour is SB I-270 to MD 80 (Fingerboard Road) to northbound I-270 and back to MD 85.

 

Prince George’s County
