Major Weekend Lane Closures

MDOT SHA will suspend non-emergency lane closures from Friday, December 22 until 9 a.m. Tuesday, December 26 and again on Friday, December 29 until 9 a.m. Tuesday, January 1, 2018.

Long-Term Closures

Carroll County

• MD 30 Business (Main Street) between North Woods Trail and the CSX Railroad tracks – Urban reconstruction project – Single lane closures with a flagging operation Mondays through Saturdays between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m. until project completion, fall 2019/winter 2020.

Charles County

• MD 234 (Budds Creek Road) Bridge over Gilbert Swamp Run – Bridge replacement –Single lane closure guided by a temporary traffic signal until spring 2018. 

• MD 6 (Charles Street) Bridge over Zekiah Swamp – Bridge deck replacement – Single lane closure guided by a temporary traffic signal until spring 2018.

Frederick County

• MD 355 (Urbana Pike) Bridge over the Monocacy River – Emergency bridge repair – Bridge closed for up to 60 after being struck and damaged by vehicle.

A look ahead at next week

Anne Arundel County

• Southbound MD 3 (Crain Highway) (Median) between Waugh Chapel Road and MD 175 (Millersville Road) (BGE project) – BGE electric transmission line project – Single lane closures Mondays through Fridays between 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Baltimore County

• I-83 (Baltimore-Harrisburg Expressway) at MD 137 (Mt. Carmel Road) – Steel bridge beam placement.  During total stoppages to swing beams into place, traffic will be guided, single file, up and over the and back onto I-83. The following is the planned schedule for the beam sets:

Wednesday night 12/27/17 & Thursday night 12/28/17

Southbound I-83 - Single left lane closure at 8 p.m. and total closure detour 9 p.m.

Northbound I-83 - Single Left lane closure 9 p.m. and total closure detour 10 p.m.

• MD 150 (Eastern Avenue) between the Back River Bridge and Selig Avenue – Pavement repair (patching) - Single lane and shoulder closures Mondays through Fridays between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
