Motorists Can Expect Nighttime Single Lane and Shoulder Closures
MDOT SHA’s contractor, C.J. Miller, LLC. of Hampstead, will begin at the Shawan Road interchange on northbound I-83 and work north to Mt. Carmel Road. Crews will use arrow boards, barrels and cones to guide the more than 60,000 motorists that travel on this section of I-83 each day through the work zone. Motorists can expect single lane and shoulder closures Sundays through Thursdays between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. In addition to that closure, crews are permitted to close the shoulder Mondays through Fridays between 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
Stay alert and look for reduced speed limits, narrow driving lanes and highway workers. Slow down and don’t follow too closely. Work Zone Safety is in Your Hands. Maryland drivers can also know before they go by calling 511 or visiting
www.md511.org for live traffic updates, including construction delays and lane closures.
