Deck to Be Replaced on 76-Year Old Bridge Next Summer; Agency Seeks Feedback on Proposed Traffic Management Plans

What:          
          
SHA will host an informational meeting for the Berwyn Road Bridge rehabilitation project over Indian Creek in Prince George’s County. Next summer, the bridge deck will be replaced. The proposed concept for maintaining traffic is to close the bridge for construction work and redirect motorists with a detour. SHA representatives will be available to answer questions and discuss project issues. Display areas will be set up explaining the proposed bridge improvements.

Information: The original structure was built in 1933, additional work for the bridge includes cleaning and painting the steel beams, installing ground stabilization devices around the bridge abutments, and adding ornamental lighting at the ends of the bridge.
