Motorists Should Expect Delays and Plan Alternate Routes
(October 20, 2015) – Beginning tonight (weather permitting) and continuing each weeknight until all work is complete, the Maryland Department of Transportation’s (State Highway Administration (SHA) will temporarily close traffic lanes on the inner loop (southbound) of I-95/I-495 (Capital Beltway)at the MD 450 (Annapolis Road) interchange in Prince George’s County. The closures are necessary to allow crews to repair the concrete deck (driving surface) on the Capital Beltway Bridge over MD 450.
At 9 p.m., SHA will close a single left lane on the Inner Loop of I-95/I-495, two lanes at 10 p.m. and three lanes at 11 p.m. to complete the repairs. All lanes should reopen by 5 a.m. each day, weather permitting.
SHA asks for your patience as crews work to complete the project. The need for the repair was discovered through a routine maintenance inspection.
