(September 2, 2015) – The Maryland Department of Transportation’s State Highway Administration (SHA) will close the two right lanes of the
inner loop of I-695 (Baltimore Beltway) at I-70 Wednesday night between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. Thursday morning. The lane closures are needed for crews to perform preventative maintenance on the triple bridges at the I-695/I-70 interchange.
SHA will close a single right lane at 9 p.m. and two right lanes at 10 p.m. All lanes will reopen by 5 a.m. Thursday morning. Motorists traveling on the inner loop of I-695 should plan on extra travel time Wednesday evening.
While SHA and its partners work hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones, each driver needs to actively modify his or her driving style to further help prevent crashes. Stay alert – look for reduced speed limits, narrow driving lanes, and highway workers. Slow down and don't follow too closely. Safer Driving. Safer Work Zones. For Everyone!
