(August 4, 2015) – Next weekend, CSX Transportation and the Maryland Department of Transportation’s State Highway Administration (SHA) will close a section of MD 381 (Brandywine Road) between Tower Road and Brandywine Heights Road in southern Prince George’s County.
Crews will close the road between Friday, August 14 at 6 p.m. and Monday, August 17 at 5 a.m.
Scheduled CSX work includes replacing deteriorated rubber panels at the railroad crossings. The signed detour route includes US 301 (Crain Highway), Cherry Tree Crossing Road, Old Indian Head Road, and Tower Road. If weather conditions delay repairs, the work will take place the weekend of August 21.
SHA reminds drivers to adhere to the posted speed limits and remain alert while driving. With the work occurring during the weekend, drivers should plan for extra travel time to reach their destinations. For more information, customers may call CSX Transportation at 1-877-835-5279 or the SHA District 3 Office at 301-513-7300.
