(April 10, 2015) – In addition to ongoing weekday lane closures for the Dover Bridge replacement project, the Maryland Department of Transportation’s State Highway Administration (SHA) will close the eastbound lane on MD 331 (Dover Road) over the Choptank River and will alternate traffic on Saturdays, April 11th and April 18th.  There will be no lane closures on Sundays.

The closures are necessary to allow excavation at pier locations and to place staged embankments at the east approach for the MD 331 Dover Bridge replacement project. They are expected to remain in place between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. through Saturday, May 2, weather dependent.

Whether it’s a tree trimming operation or a bridge project, be aware when orange is there: Think Orange (the color of construction equipment and signs), stay alert and slow down.  Everyone is at risk.  In four out of five work zone-related crashes, it is the driver or passenger who is injured or killed. In 2014, nine people lost their lives in Maryland work zone crashes, including four highway workers.
